Equipment Sales Representative – Turf Maintenance Equipment to Golf Accounts | Portland, OR
Pacific Golf & Turf, the John Deere Golf Maintenance Equipment Distributor for the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii, is seeking a Professional Sales Representative responsible for the sale/leasing of new and used equipment, primarily for golf courses. Responsible to meet customer’s needs and grow market share, while maintaining acceptable levels of gross profit and attaining sales unit targets within an assigned territory. We are looking for the right person for our TEAM.

Some details and responsibilities for the position are:

Territory: Oregon

Quote and negotiate prices and credit terms, prepare contracts and record and close orders

Grow and develop customer relationships and loyalty to increase market share

Sell/Lease equipment working with Parts/Service Associates to be a customer solution and build long term relationships with assigned accounts to maximize customer and company profitability

Responsible for securing equipment orders by: demonstrating equipment, assisting in technical presentations, offering consultative assistance in areas of machine specifications, attachments, etc. based on customer type and individual applications of machinery.

Manage and control sales related expenses

Meet or exceed Company targets for units, dollars and gross profit

Work with customers and potential customers to provide solutions to their equipment needs

Provide on-site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections and technical support

Keep accurate and up-to-date call logs, prospect lists and mileage information

Provide status report to sales manager as to achievement of goals and objectives

Attend training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new equipment and special deals

Provide feedback to other departments

Maintain a customer information database for designated territory

Make frequent opportunity calls and generate new customers


The candidate must have proven sales skills, communication skills, must be willing to travel and able to deliver demo equipment with a pickup truck and trailer. Must also have mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to operate equipment, diagnose product issues and perform minor adjustments/repairs. A background in turf maintenance/management is a plus. Extensive training will be provided related to products, sales process, pricing / leasing, customer needs, etc. Competitive compensation includes base plus commissions. Company provides a vehicle and pays normal business expenses. Very competitive benefits package including 401k and health insurance. Education: College degree is preferred.
